A college friend had a 1991 Taurus SHO. Yes that v6 was put in as an afterthought but it was such a glorious v6. Taking off in 1st gear was either a skidding burnout slicing off into the ditch to the right or a correction effort hooking the car into the left lane and eventually the ditch over there as well. There was no happy medium of straight happy on power acceleration. It was a fight. Driving this car in anger would eventually turn you into a professor of thrust vector analysis, sort of in the way the old Asteroids game did. You were going somewhere, but your thrust didn't match up.
I'm sure there were some worse torque steering monsters out there, but this one was definitely terrible. In the next gears up it was a wonderful car but 1st was really unusable if your foot was on the floor. The sound of that Yamaha V6 was glorious. It was earsex.

Is that a SHO in russia or something? How the hell did one end up over there?
Also, if you think a 200hp taurus is bad, try driving a 275hp northstar v8 deville. Or even worse, a 300hp 5.3L V8 impala SS!

If you really want to experience torque steer, drive a Saab 900 Viggen
It's so bad. If you attempt to gun it around a corner, the wheel will do its best to rip your arm off

I have seen a few in Canada, friend had one that ended up putting a rod right though the oil pan. Was fun while it lasted.

There are plenty of American shitboxes in Russia, like Grand Prixes, Malibus and Tauruses. Perhaps one with magic powder made its way there.
Also, I believe the Russian police uses Tahoes and Crown Vics as patrol cars. Ironic, isn't it?

You're really only boned for torque steer if you've got a lot of unequal length shaft and uneven weight balance going on to go with your big engine. The Toronado got away with having a 425 big block and very little torque steer: equal-length shafts, careful weight balance, in a heavy car with well-designed power steering.

Yea, I had the northstar in my eldorado. I can backup your claims.

My 2010 SHO has a slight amount of torque steer, it has AWD, but it also has 365 horsepower. The torque steer is however predictable and controllable. I've never feared for my life during hard acceleration. After winter I'll be adding roughly 100hp with downpipes and a tune :D we'll see how the torque steer is affected, lol.

That transmission is popular with the Fiero guys doing longitudinal V8 swaps. It's very nifty how they put everything in there so it fits right on.

I used to work at the family business which is a funeral home, and we have a 99 deville livery chassis hearse. It has the 275hp spec 4.6L northstar. Driving that on date code 1999 michelin "green x" tires, and the wallowy suspension, and the awful brakes, I swear that car was keen on making the driver end up riding in the back. That was a terrifyingly fun vehicle to drive.

I have seen some Russian police vics before but I don't think thats really a common issue thing. Now in places like Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, panthers both in an out of service are a real common sight.

expand your portfolio, you don't know driving bliss until you experience such thrill machines as
a base model 8th gen civic sedan with 5spd auto
a 3.3L dodge grand caravan EWB
a 2.73 geared single exhaust grand marquis
and many more!

Not this particular car, but one pretty much identical to it. My parents owned it.
1991 Chrysler LeBaron GTC Turbo Coupe. Same viper red paint, and carbon trim and wheels, completely chrome-deleted.
The car was a BEAST, especially since it had the 5-speed manual. (I always sort of wished it were a Daytona instead, and RWD like a Starion/Conquest...)
But the 2.2L Variable Nozzle Turbocharged and intercooled engine, like most 80s/90's era turbo engine... was mercurial.
Off-boost it was a low-compression pussy-cat...
But hit the loud pedal, and it tried to rip the steering wheel out of your hands, the torque hit was so big and about as progressive a toggle switch.
I used to joke that if you kept too tight a grip on the wheel, the car would rip your arms off, and beat you with them, the torque steer through the steering wheel was so severe.

My Elantra has some torque steer, but I think the car is designed to disable power steering (or do something like power-resist steering) during high-rev acceleration.

Yea I assume it is not a cornering nor straight line vehicle. I for one enjoyed the floaty suspension. GM's magnetic ride has come a long way.

Its only made to do like 25, so anything over that is "uncharted territory"

no, I said it was "made to" not, "thats as fast as I've gone"
I'm not saying I street raced a lifted chevy silverado crew cab while driving a hearse and won, but I street raced a lifted chevy silverado crew cab while driving a hearse, and won
Those events may or may not have taken place while getting the transmission up to operating temp to check the fluid levels, the fluid levels were A-OK

I autocrossed one back in the day. I got used to the torque steer, didn't shift, left it in second and bounced it off the rev limiter.
